Mahorka 4 is a Rustica tobacco developed in the former Soviet Union. It is most commonly grown in the region of Ukraine. It matures early with blooms starting in only 4 to 5 weeks after transplanting. The plant keeps growing to a height of approximately 3 feet producing medium sized dark green leaves. The leaves began to ripen at about 50 days. Curing is much easier if the leaves are left until they began to yellow on the plant before picking. As with most Rustica strains, the nicotine level can be high averaging around 6%, or even higher depending on growing conditions. PI 499183 |
