Krumovgrad 58 is a Basma type variety grown in Bulgaria. Plants grow in a columnar form to 6' in height with 30-32 leaves per plant. The leaves are a light green and average 6"-8" wide by 14" in length. The lower leaves began to ripen about 2 weeks before the plant reaches bloom at 65-70 days. The leaves cure to a light orange / yellow in color with a fine flavor, pleasant taste, and very good burning quality. Krumovgrad 58 accounts for 10% of the oriental tobacco grown in Bulgaria. It is resistant to TSWV, but is sensitive to other tobacco diseases such as Blue Mold, TMV, PVY and powdery mildew. |
