Chapeollo is a primitive variety from Honduras which was first brought into the US in 1936. The plants grow to 4' in height with leaves averaging 10"-12" wide by 20" long. Blooming occurs early in 45-50 days from transplant, with the leaves ripening about 2 weeks later. Air cures to a dark brown and yields 2-3 oz per plant with a nicotine content of 2.37%.
