Bosikappal is classified as a primitive variety, but has been cultivated in India for many generations. It matures early at 50-55 days. It grows to 4' in height and produces long narrow leaves 6"-8" wide and up to 24" in length with a nicotine content of 2.5%. Air cured leaves have a flavor often described as sweet and slightly woody.
