Baiano is a Hungarian variety used in cigars and pipe tobaccos. It is a heavy producer with large thick leaves. Columnar plant form reaching 5 feet in height. Little to no suckering. Leaves are a dark green, closely spaced on the stalk, and grow very upright, folding in tight to the stalk in the evenings. It has a very densely packed flower head with pink flowers. Mature plants tolerate frost well.
